Nakshatra (நட்சத்திரம்) is the lunar mansion the Moon occupies in Vedic astrology. There are 27 Nakshatras, each spanning 13°20' of the zodiac and divided into 4 Padas (quarters), giving 108 Padas in total — the sacred number in Hindu tradition.
