Enter the date of passing to find annual Thivasam / Shraddha dates based on the Hindu lunar Tithi.
In Hindu tradition, the annual death anniversary of a family member is called Thivasam (also Thevasam or Shraddha). Unlike a Gregorian anniversary, it is not observed on the same calendar date each year. Instead, it is observed on the same Tithi — the lunar day of the Hindu calendar — that corresponds to the day of passing.
Because the lunar calendar shifts relative to the solar calendar, the Gregorian date of the Thivasam changes every year. This calculator identifies the Tithi at the time of passing and then finds the dates in upcoming years when that same Tithi recurs.
Thivasam (also Thevasam or Shraddha) is the annual death anniversary observed on the same Tithi (lunar day) the person passed away. Each year when that Tithi recurs, the rite is observed.
The Tithi (lunar day) at the time of death is identified using the Hindu Panchanga. Every year when that same Tithi falls, the Thivasam is observed, regardless of the Gregorian date.
Select "I don't know the exact time". All Tithis that occurred on that day will be shown. You can click the one that applies to find the upcoming Thivasam dates.
